To many women it’s no surprise that men are still failing to hit your G-spot and, unfortunately, that’s not going to change in time for Valentines Day.

A new survey from retailer Comet has discovered that men will still be shooting wide of women’s G[adget]-spot this Valentines. Not even close, actually. A staggering 93% of men said they’ll be opting for the boring old ‘choccies and flowers’ while almost a quarter of the women surveyed said they want gadgets. Just 7% of men said they’ll be buying gadgets for the girls – a low G-spot rating by any standard.

The gadget-oriented girls said they’d gladly swap some bling and flowers for gadgets, like a sat-nav, MP3 player, hair straighteners or digital camera.

Comet’s spokesperson Karen Alden, says, ‘We are surprised to see how out of touch men in the UK are when it comes to Valentine’s Day – this proves women really are the better shoppers! We’ve seen a massive uplift in women buying gadgets for themselves over the past couple of years. Chocolates and flowers really won’t hit the spot this year!’

In contrast, women know exactly what men want this Valentine’s Day. Almost a third of women said they’ll be buying toys for the boys. Half of the men surveyed said they’d take a gadget over any other lovey-dovey gifts. Men, return the chocolates, there's still time.-Martin Lynch

I'm not being funny but Valentines Day is a day of romance and to show how much you love that special someone! It's ridiculous to think that people are wanting gadgets and sorts for Valentines Day?

What's this world coming to?

It's not about love any more. It's gone too commercialised these days. Heck, easter eggs went on sale last month, when easter isn't even till April.

It's all about money and having your other half slash out on you. Hell, my sister and her other half have drawn up shopping lists for their V-day gifts, crazy, lol.

I completely agree. This is a bald attempt to turn Valentine's into another soulless event, following on from the retailers successful hijacking of Christmas.

I totally agree, valentines day is just another big money spin off.
Regards.

I told my girlfriend not to expect anything for Valentines Day as it was too commercialised - prices are bumped up to sting us and make us part with our hard earned cash. Anyway I'm in the market for a new girlfriend now... just kidding. She agreed! Why wait until Valentines Day to give a gift to your loved one.

Another reason why DSG and Comet are going to be backrupt by this time next year - retarded managers trying to hawk their cheesy wares. I hope they all burn

Agreed - valentines ftl.
I buy my gf a gadget just about every month except Feb. Took her out for dinner once a week or so for ages now but not this week in protest at the jacked up prices.

And as for Comet stating women are the best shoppers as they want stuff more than men - surely this just shows women are more greedy than men? Or more economic (gadets lasting longer than flowers)? Or more susceptible to marketing?
Nonsense!
