Yes, I realise that there’s a heart-shaped logo on this product and that today is that ridiculous, over-commercialised hoax called Valentine’s Day, but this little gadget promises to entertain for a bit longer than those overpriced flowers you bought.

This is Cubed, consisting of four boxes that clip together and sporting LED displays. The boxes have to be moved around though to recreate the answer to different symbol and word puzzles. The trick is that there’s only 40 seconds to get each of the 600 or so conundrums right.

OK, failing doesn’t mean you get electrocuted or anything but you may end up throwing one or more cubes against the wall. Each cube runs off 2 AA batteries.
