Decommissioned Bomb Makes Nice Fish Tank March 01, 2008

bomb aquarium.jpg OK, it’s possibly not as unusual as the Telephone Box Aquarium but the Bomb Aquarium is certainly eye catching, more controversial and will no doubt lead to some heated debates in the living room.

This aquarium stands a lanky 6-feet tall and is made from the tail of a decommissioned Mk82 500lb bomb with a specially shaped 10-gallon tank perched on top. It’s capped with a spun aluminium dome. The tank is completely self-contained with a built in pump, filter and lighting.

The one above is painted a Dark Candy Red but there are seven other shades with which to pretty up your very own weapon of conventional destruction. Make that ‘former weapon of conventional destruction’.

Anyway, with a price tag of £2,000, the only thing this baby will be destroying is your wallet.-Martin Lynch

Right this always annoys me, people design fish tanks and then create a picture showing colorful marine fish living in it for which the tank is far too small and inadequate! why not create a picture which is realistic and shows an amount and type of fish you can keep in it!

Making ornaments out of old ordnance is hardly a new idea. I've got an old table lamp made out of a First World War shell.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's a guy over at AVForums who's made a subwoofer out of a WWII shell.
