New PS3 Bundles On The Way March 2, 2008

Sony might be slighting European gamers by not releasing the 80GB PS3 that it did in the US and Canada but it is refreshing its bundles.
There are two new PS3 bundles being readied for the European market. These include a special Gran Turismo 5 Prologue version which will launch alongside the game in the Spring. The pack includes the game, 40GB console and one Sixaxis controller.
The second bundle is a Movie Pack [pictured], with a 40GB console, single controller and three Blu-ray movies replacing the usual game: Spiderman 3, 300 and Casino Royale. Both bundles are expected to come in at the current price points.
The Movie Pack is interesting as it’s the first time that Sony has exclusively pushed the console as a HD movie player over a gaming device. With HD DVD out of the way, Sony's expected to pull out all the stops to make us all Blu fans. Pity that doesn't extend to cheaper players. Jump to see a shot of the Gran Turismo pack.-Martin Lynch

This is the same price in pounds as for the MGS4 bundle in the US in dollars. Basically, we're paying double for half (40gb vs 80gb)?
The only reason I don't have a PS3 already is that I've been waiting for a more sensible price in line with the rest of the world - these bundles aren't going to persuade me to part with my cash just yet.
Its a tragedy that Sony are so good with their technology and so dreadful at sales. The Playstation has a one off opportunity to become the home hub in the HD eara, but unless Sony can get these installed into everyone's HD / Internet / Gaming sphere, in all markets very quickly - alternatives with richer functionality will sweep it aside, This 40 GB package at these prices will never never sell in the numbers that Sony must sell them.

hi there sony are going to realise the new sony 80gb ps3 pal uk version! on 22nd august! with new dual shock 3 controllers! and it comes with two games gta iv metal gear solid.the bad thing is its got 2 usb ports:( i buy faulty psps and ps3s and replace with new ones and make a huge amount of money. so i will have to sell my 60gbs to pruchase on of this
