With radio becoming more and more versatile every day, Tangent has tweaked its popular and critically acclaimed Quattro Internet radio.

The new Tangent Quattro Mk2 adds an FM radio tuner, an Ethernet RJ45 port in addition to the in-built Wi-Fi and support for the new WPA2 Wi-Fi security protocol.

Inside its retro Danish design, you get a radio capable of delivering 9,900 Internet radio stations, as well as other music streamed from your PC or Mac. Stations can be searched for via country or genre and the display also displays your Wi-Fi signal strength. Other recently launched Net radios of note includes the Revo Blik and the forthcoming portable Net radio, codenamed Daisy, from Intempo.

The Mk2 can play BBC Radio On Demand and Internet podcasts, while the new FM tuner offers up the best that national radio can offer.

The radio is housed in a heavy wooden cabinet and sound is delivered via a 3in amplifier with a 5Watt RMS rating. There’s a headphone socket, a Line-out for connecting to your hi-fi system and a jack for hooking up an iPod or other MP3 player.

It comes in walnut or black for £180 or high gloss red or white for £200.-Martin Lynch
