Seeing as the boys just got their fantasy dose with the French Maid PC, here’s one for game-loving girls: The GameBoy Boots.

Combine your love of 1970s platforms with the still popular GameBoy handheld by sticking the two of them together. I’m not sure if the platforms are a cutting edge fashion statement or are merely a statement about how geeky you are, but either way these pavement pounders will attract attention. And hopefully, not of the thieving kind.

The idea is that the working GameBoys travel around blinging up your footwear until it’s time to get on the bus and then it’s time to whip 'em out and play.

These were first developed in 2001 by designer, Helen Red Richards, for a Nintendo campaign and could be ordered through Nintendo then – not sure if that’s still the case.

You may, or may not, be surprised to hear that teen Japanese girls think these things are very cool indeed. More shots below.-Martin Lynch

Wow, this is old. I remember seeing them in Gamesmaster magazine before I was old enough to learn to drive. I now have a Masters degree. :p
