If you’re a PC power user for whom blistering gaming performance is a must-have in a new rig, then turn away now.

If, however, you appreciate a novel take on the PC idea, can afford to lose a quite a bit in the speed stakes or, merely want some odd gadget to snigger at, then have a look at the keyboard that doesn’t just think it’s a PC, but actually is.

The Zero-Footprint-PC (ZPC-GX31) is…..

…a PC squeezed inside a keyboard to allow users to easily take it from room to room. I thought that’s what a laptop was for. Still, this one does only cost around £350. It is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E4500, has 1GB of RAM and a DVD/CDRW drive. It runs Windows XP which will make the many unconvinced Vista haters happy but don’ t expect to play games on this dinky little creation.

Inside, it has an Intel G31 Express Chipset handling the graphics which is like entering an F1 race with a poorly cared for Robin Reliant. Like I said, power gamers look away. Or, just laugh a lot. More here.-Martin Lynch

This isn't made by Commodore is it?

Reminds me of the good old Amiga/Atari age

That's not hideously bad! Reasonable spec, mediocre graphics, but C2D CPU and looks pretty viable - optical drive, 4xUSB, even card readers. Unless there's some hideous design flaw, I'd consider it if I needed a really SFF PC.

Why 2 serial ports, though?

Fantastic! looks like an Amiga A1200! Now if Commodore started to make the likes of these and brand them Amiga that would be fun, don't think they own the rights to the Amiga brand now thou.

Damo, I think the reason there'll be two serial ports is because this company won't be big enough to make they're own mobo's so use a retail board for it

As some of the other guys have already mentioned; Amiga/Atari anyone......

As a past user of most Amiga machines (A500, 500+, 600, 1200, 3000, 4000T) this did bring a smile to my face and a warm feeling of contentment.

I wonder if the manufacturers are playing mind-games on the 'senior' members of computer community.

I actually like the idea. The spec is OK for basic stuff but there is a flaw in its portability - Where's the screen! Are you supposed to drag a tft "from room to room" aswell?

If it plays "Homeworld" i`ll be happy :)
