The eco-friendly Hydrogen 7 car from BMW has just scored really high [or is that low?] on some independent emissions tests.
Tested by engineers at the US Department of Energy (DOE), the car's hydrogen-powered engine aced the super-ultra low-emission vehicle (SULEV) level, “the most stringent emissions performance standard to date”.

Last September we covered the launch of one of Sony’s oddest products, the Rolly MP3 player.
Now Sony has upgraded the original with some new colours and it’s heading to the US next month for the first time, extending the hope [or despair] that it might actually launch in the UK/Europe.
The first Rolly coverage divided Gizmodo readers into those that thought it was cute and bought it in from Japan and those that thought it was just about the dumbest thing they had ever seen.

Alternative therapies are the in-thing these days, from sucking expensive oxygen to weekly enemas.
Now, you can step up your love of the alternative while sticking two fingers up to those peasant air suckers in oxygen bars, by checking out the full-size oxygen tank. Built by Japanese firm Adrect, this is the IDEA O2 Science, a lozenge-shaped capsule that promises to rejuvenate you.
Just leave your claustrophobia at the door and get in, close the lid and wait while the coffin – er, capsule – decompresses and fills with oxygen. LED lighting provides enough illumination for reading or you can pipe through tunes and even call people from the internal phone to see if they’re still stuck in traffic sucking exhaust.
This is Japan-only at the moment but it’s bound to hit some overpriced health spa near you soon. -Martin Lynch

For Sale: one really annoying robot and a really handy one that, thankfully, doesn't speak but can fix your dishwasher and Sky+ box.
I’m referring of course to the tag team known as C-3PO and R2-D2, or at least these beautifully crafted life-size models from the talented Fred Barton – The Robot Man. If you have any room left in your living room after already splashing out on the incredible life-size Alien or Battlestar Gallactica’s new Cylon, this double act could be just the Star Wars collectible fix you need.

With Fidel gone and his brother Raul trying to make Cubans happier, the new Cuban president has lifted the unpopular ban on mobile phones.
This will be the first time that all Cubans will be able to buy mobiles without having to resort to under-the-counter measures of having foreigners buying them phones or having to register themselves as foreigners or through companies. Until now, only foreigners or government officials and employees could own phones legally.
