Last September we covered the launch of one of Sony’s oddest products, the Rolly MP3 player.

Now Sony has upgraded the original with some new colours and it’s heading to the US next month for the first time, extending the hope [or despair] that it might actually launch in the UK/Europe.

The first Rolly coverage divided Gizmodo readers into those that thought it was cute and bought it in from Japan and those that thought it was just about the dumbest thing they had ever seen.

Essentially, Rolly is a 1GB MP3 player that rolls around on the floor in time to the tunes being played, flaps its wee little arms and flashes different colours along its strips. It also sports Bluetooth for streaming and a memory card slot.

See a video of it below and decide whether it’s worth the estimated £200 asking price. Yes, £200.-Martin Lynch

all it needs is to bounce around and squeak 'Haro! Haro!'... and fit in a dock to pilot gundams (from gundam 00)

This looks remarkable similar to our Pastel Range of Fashion Batteries, not that it is April 1st or Anything. http://www.usbcell.com/pr/12
