The Gizmodo Award for this year’s best April Fool’s IT product – apart from the spiritual lifestyle coach for the iPhone – is the Dynamo Kinetic Keyboard.
Not only does it look like one of the coolest keyboards ever made, it also powers your PC based on how fast your little fingers can type. That’s right, this baby works using kinetic energy just as long as you have Fingers Of Fire.
Of course, it’s a load of old bollocks but it’s a funny load of old bollocks. Just check out the feature list - unlike some of the other big gadget sites - and you’ll see what I mean. I’ve highlighted the best ones:
* Power your PC as you type with the Dynamo Green Keyboard.
* As you type, the kinetic energy generated powers your PC.
* No need for mains power as the kinetic energy is converted to electricity, saving your energy bills.
* The keyboard is QWERTY.
* No trees were burnt in the making of this product (though the odd sparrow may have been re-housed).
* Made from sustainable plastic.
* Conforms to all the standard standards.
* Do not use if you are more than 6ft 2" or are lactose intolerant.
* Suitable for green fingers.
* Requires a USB port.
* Size: 45 x 16 x 2cm.
Hats off to I Want One Of Those. Lactose intolerant? Hahahahahaha…. -Martin Lynch

You know, Amy-Mae Elliott at Pocket Lint wrote this up straight. Either she's in on the joke or she's fallen for it. It wouldn't be the first time. She copied and pasted an April Fools' about Google putting its logo on the moon. Some people will never learn to check the date before they hit 'Ctrl+V'.
Waow!
Just ordering mins today!
I preferred ThinkGeek's Betamax to HD-DVD Converter :)
I can just imagine someone appearing on the next series of Dragons' Den looking for venture capital for such an invention. It looks cool though, a green see-through keyboard could be what I really need!
i actually want one of these cool keyboards!!
apple could be watching this idea =]
i can see it catching on, after all they laughed at the idea of a wifi, touchscreen mp3 playing phone a few years back.
