Apple-logo.jpg According to a new survey from online site, brandchannel, Apple romped home to victory in its first Brandjunkies Awards to discover the brand with the most global impact.

Out of 2,000 professionals and students surveyed across 107 countries, the Apple brand topped six categories including 'most inspiring brand' and ‘the one they couldn’t live without’.

Following Apple, the most popular brands were Nike, Coca Cola, Google and Starbucks. Richard Branson’s Virgin brand also ranked highly in a couple of categories.

phone stress.jpg It seems that there’s a new phobia sweeping the UK and it’s called nomophobia. Nomo, short for ‘no mobile’, is apparently reaching danger levels in the UK and half of you tend to panic when you can’t use your mobile phone. Is this still April Fools Day?

In a YouGov survey of over 2,000 people last month, on behalf of the Post Office, more than 13 million UK phone users fear being out of mobile phone contact. Some even more than visiting the dentist, which just can’t be right. Haven’t you seen Marathon Man?

Yamaha was the first company to plough the new trend for surround sound bars and the company is expected to release a new one this May.

Targeted at those that want a simple, clean, wire-free – albeit pseudo-surround - system in their living room, the YSP-600 will cost around £500, is 1080p compatible and sports two HDMI In and 1 HDMI Out ports. It's also smaller than its cousins for less conspicuous postioning.

Social networking sites like Facebook, Bebo and MySpace may soon have to carry a ‘999’ emergency link to improve the safety of kids online.

In a 73-page draft of a report due to be published on Friday by Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith, the sites will have to carry ads for the emergency services so that kids can call if they feel they are being targeted by potential abusers.

Experts contributing to the report claimed that youngsters are at risk from ‘sexual grooming’ by paedophiles, bullying and online fraud.
