Anyone ready to jack up their gaming experience will have seen our CES 2008 coverage of the interesting virtual impact, 3rd Space FPS Vest from TN Games.

Well, it's now available in the UK so that gamers can add that touch of realism to taking hits in their PC games. That's right - no Xbox 360 nor PS3 support right now, which is a shame. Hook it up via USB and when you get shot or hit in selected games, the vest will translate that hit into a mild punch to an approximate part of your torso through 8 pneumatic cells embedded in various parts of the vest, front and back.

The force of the bullet hitting you in the game will decide whether you get a sharp thud or a girly punch.

It comes bundled with a copy of its own 3rd Space game – but, don’t worry – aswell as Call Of Duty 2. It’s also compatible with F.E.A.R., Medal of Honour: Airborne and Quake 4, among others.

The only downside is that while you can get the vest in the US for around £80 – or less - it will tap you for £150 here.

Never mind a mild punch, that's a kick in the balls.-Martin Lynch

If I wanted to feel the effect of being punched I'd go out and spill someone's pint in the pub on a Friday night. It's much more realistic and cheaper too.
