Nokia Launches N-Gage Gaming For Phones April 07, 2008

Nokia has finally unwrapped its N-Gage mobile games service globally, allowing millions of customers to download some half-decent games for their mobile phones.

The service supports Nokia N81, N81 8GB, N82, N95 and N95 8GB phones to start but, support is expected to be added for the N73, N93 and N93i soon. Users can try all of the games before buying and the cost for full games is between ‘6 and 10 euros’ (£4.75-£8 ).

Users will also be able to connect with other players through the N-Gage Arena community to play multiplayer games, join the forums, use live chat and take part in tournaments.

"With N-Gage we're offering a seamless experience for people around the world to try and buy games that are engaging, accessible and have wide appeal," said Jaakko Kaidesoja, vice president of games, Nokia. "We're very excited to get this into the hands of our customers, because with them we will shape the future of mobile gaming."

The first new games out of the bag are EA Sports’ FIFA 08, Brain Challenge and Asphalt 3: Street Rules, World Series of Poker Pro Challenge, Hooked On: Creatures of the Deep and System Rush: Evolution. They will be followed soon by Tetris and The Sims 2 Pets, Block Breaker Deluxe, Dogz, Snakes Subsonic, Space Impact: Kappa Base and Mile High Pinball.
