We've all tried the crappy 3D glasses in the cinema but now Hyundai is giving folk the chance to have the same dodgy experience in their living rooms.

Built by Hyundai – so don’t expect to see it here anytime soon – the 46in 3D stereoscopic TV is capable of showing BS11 3D broadcasts from Japan Broadcasting BS in Japan. Yes, it does sound like a bit of BS alright but it’s true.

The downside, apart from the £2,500 asking price, is that you will have to wear those big ‘My name is Michael Caine’ glasses to experience the full effect. Sexy, eh?

The TV itself is a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution panel with two HDMI inputs and will happily play your regular 2D broadcasts. Still, where would the geeky fun be in that? It launches tomorrow in a very limited number of stores so, as you might guess, the confidence that this TV will revolutionise our telly viewing habits is, well, limited.-Martin Lynch
