If a dishwasher is not an option or you’re tired of watching the dirty dishes pile grow ever taller, then check out the latest ‘megasonic’ cleaner from Coway.

The SWV-08AM is designed to be fitted where your regular kitchen tap/faucet goes and uses sound waves, and water, to clean produce, meats, dishes, pots and pans with ‘little or no detergent’. According to the company:

“The megasonic waves induce micro cavitation, shaking impurities loose from surfaces. Coway integrated the controller and faucet into this device, designing the SWV-08AM like a conventional faucet, small and easy to use and install. The water flowing through the jet spray faucet head washes impurities away, preventing second-hand contamination. The cleaning device also delivers clean water using its built-in P-Sediment filter.”

There’s no price on this but I’m guessing a dishwasher, or part-time cleaner, would be cheaper.-Martin Lynch

I can see this shattering wine glasses. After a party: hold one under, smash, hold one under, smash. Still, at least then you could clean up with a dustpan and brush...

Ultrasonic sound is (or was) sometimes used in laboratories to clean the glassware.
So I dont think it will damage your glasses.
But then again, your average test tube is somewhat sturdier then a wineglass...
