xbox elite with box.jpg The PS3 may be picking up momentum and the Wii still galloping ahead of everyone else but Microsoft has just claimed that Xbox 360 sales in Europe have doubled in the last month.

Microsoft is putting the surge down to price cuts in March, when the Xbox Arcade, Pro and Elite consoles were reduced to £160, £200 and £260, respectively. That said, it has not released exact sales figures but is claiming that the 360 remains the No. 1 next-gen console (not sure if that includes the Wii) with a 42% share of ‘life-to-date’ revenue. Sheesh, talk about making a simple statistic microscopically specific.

This is the forthcoming Armani Samsung TV and, if you’re struggling to see just what bit Giorgio contributed, then join the club. That said, when it’s released later this summer in Europe, a quick glance at the price tag will probably reveal all.

There will be two models up for grabs, 46in and 52in, and both are 1080p, or Full HD models, with 100Hz picture processing and a host of HDMI inputs. They say:

The first thing you notice about the new series of NWZ-A820 Walkmans from Sony, in this case the NWZ-A829, is the size. This player is thin in a way that makes supermodels look healthy. The shiny black and glass chassis measures just 51 x 93.9 x 9.3mm and is very cool indeed, with the curves of its predecessor, the NWZ-A800, being replaced with a squarer look and more minimalist controls.

The key differences with this model are the larger 2.4in QVGA display – up from 2in – and the addition of Bluetooth. There are three models on offer; the NWZ-A826 (4GB), NWZ-A828 (8GB) and NWZ-A829 (16GB) and, in effect, we are looking at Sony’s iPod nano/Touch rivals The question is, are they better?
