Microsoft will be happy to learn today that it is considered to be a more innovative company than either of its key console rivals, Sony and Nintendo.

At least according to the readers of BusinessWeek, which placed Microsoft in 5th spot, ahead of Nintendo in 7th and Sony in 9th. Microsoft’s ranking was based on its search engine and touch-screen research – not the Xbox 360, nor the bloated Windows Vista.

Microsoft was 5th last year too. Topping the poll of the World's 50 Most Innovative Companies was Apple, followed by Google, Toyota and General Electric.

Sony raised its game by one spot this year while Nintendo, demonstrating the power of the Wii, shot into 7th from last year’s 39th. So, do you think Microsoft is more innovative?-Martin Lynch

This post is ridiculous. It is akin to saying that Mitsubishi was voted more innovative than Ford for its television products.

Maybe one day sites such as this one will start posting literal headlines and stop relying on traffic from misdirection?

Microsoft, innovative! WTF! :S
