Archos makes some of the best portable media players (PMPs) out there and it’s aiming to cement their popularity by adding GPS sat-nav to the bundle.
The company is about to launch the GPS In-Car Holder for its Archos 605 WiFi PMP, which turns the device into a fully functional sat-nav system. Personally I think it’s a great move since I can’t bring myself to buy a dedicated sat-nav device which, even with MP3 playback, is just too limited in terms of functionality. And I don't travel much.

Hard drive manufacturer Seagate is celebrating this week by becoming the first storage vendor to ship 1 billion hard disk drives. It may have taken 29 years to do so but it’s still a staggering amount.
Now here’s some more mind-boggling figures to contend with. The company estimates that those drives amounted to 79 million terabytes of storage, capable of storing 158 billion hours of digital video or 1.2 trillion hours of your music. Considering how much storage most consumers now need, and how cheap it has become, Seagate believes it will only take 5 years to ship the next billion drives.

Home cinemas are great fun and with decent projectors costing less than many LCD TVs they are very affordable now. Now BenQ is hoping to bring Full HD projectors within the reach of more consumers by launching its £1,300 W5000 and £2,500 BenQ W20000. OK, the W5000 is the really affordable one.
Both are 1080p devices, that use Texas Instruments’ 1080p DLP DarkChip 2 and DarkChip 3 chipsets, respectively. The W5000 and W20000 have brightness ratings of 1200 Lumens and contrast ratings of 10000:1 and 20000:1.

There’s something almost pornographic about the above image. I don’t know about you but the guy wearing the jeans with the in-built keyboard looks like he’s playing with himself.
Designed by Erik De Nijs, there’s a mouse in the back pocket and speakers in the knees. Can you imagine your mother walking in on you while wearing/using this?
Mum:Oh My God! Jeffrey! Stop it this instant!
J: Jesus mum, you scared the life out of me. What’s wrong?
Mum: Don’t you look all innocent at me! You were touching yourself!
J: Huh?
Mum: Don’t deny it! I saw you. Your hands were all over it. Disgusting!
J: But mum….
Mum: And in the living room of all places!
J: Mom, it’s a keyboard. I have to touch it.
Mum: Rubbish. Who has a keyboard on the crotch of his pants?
My question exactly. I’m sorry, but this looks like something invented by an Italian mobster looking for a good excuse to spend all day rearranging his balls.-Martin Lynch
