Director, Spike Lee, is teaming up with Nokia to make a series of short films comprised of video captured by regular folk on mobile phones .

Nokia has grandly claimed that they are setting out to create the world’s first social film, whatever that means. People will be asked to film content on their mobiles and submit them for consideration and the end result will be a film in three acts around the theme of humanity.

Spike will set out the ‘assignments’ for each act so that wannabe Scorceses can get busy. I’m guessing Happy Slapping videos will not be part of the mix.

dell1.jpg Asus turned a few heads at Cebit last month when it previewed a whole raft of computing products made from bamboo and now Dell is getting in on the wooden computer act.

Asus has revealed that its innovative and planet-friendly EcoBook bamboo laptops will be with us in June, while Dell surprised everyone yesterday by announcing it will launch a tiny, bamboo PC later this year.

Unless you have pre-ordered there’s no chance of you finding one online today but apparently there are around 300,000 units with retailers all over the country. You will still have to hurry and, possibly sacrifice a goat to some hoary old god to be granted the luck to locate one, because the £70 bundle is expected to fly, cartwheel and sprint off the shelves.

byron.jpg The excitement over video game ratings and protection of the innocent little kiddies has reached European level now, with the EU calling for the introduction of ‘an effective ratings system’.

The EU has referred to the existing PEGI (pan-European game information) as ‘a good start’ but it wants more done and is planning to introduce a code of conduct on sales of video games to children to be brought in within the next two years. This will be accompanied by a ‘transparent, effective classification system across Europe’.
