Disney is entering the robotic toy marketplace and the WALL-E robot from Pixar’s new animated movie will be heading the charge.

Disney is teaming up with WowWee and Thinkway Toys to bring WALL-E to life. The Ultimate WALL-E will have:

10 motors for lots of movement possibilities; a remote control, for programming myriad movements and behaviours; and sensors that'll allow him to respond to his environment in numerous ways, including obstacle, sound, and touch detection.

He’s expected to cost – at least in the US – around £95 and he’ll probably be entering your home via your pleading children so prepare for some credit card abuse this summer.

Just as interesting though is Disney’s second robot offering, a flying Tinker Bell fairy, made by WowWee, which is expected to cost a more wallet-friendly £20.-Martin Lynch

Looks like a re-make of the robot from the movie 'Short Circuit'.
