samsung p960 slider 2.jpg Telly addicts will be delighted to hear that Samsung is launching it’s first TV-capable mobile phone for Europe.

The P960 is described as the ‘world's first slider type Digital Video Broadcast - Handheld (DVB-H) mobile TV phone’. The P960 supports both of European mobile TV standards, Digital Video Broadcast - Convergence of Broadcast and Mobile Service (DVB-CBMS) and Open Mobile Alliance Mobile Broadcast Service Enabler Suite (OMA-BCAST). Of course, the UK - excluding some small trials - will not be getting DVB-H services anytime soon.

The slider boasts a 2.6IN QVGA TFT screen with 262K colour support. Those watching DVB-H broadcasts will also get an Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) and Picture in Picture (PIP) for viewing 2 channels at once - break out the magnifying glass.

The phone also has a 3MP camera, music player and FM radio with RDS. In terms of dimensions, it’s 16.7mm thick. No news on price but it’s due out anytime now.-Martin Lynch

How long do you reckon that aerial will survive? RDS? That's one of the most annoying things when driving along in your car, listening to your favourite song and then this annoying woman cuts in telling you traffic info one raods nowhere near you. Having a radio on a phone, good idea, but RDS, arghhh.
