hannsg 28in.jpg I’m not sure how big a monitor you need on your desk but if 17in or 19in models are no longer doing it for you, then take a peek at this 28in monster from HANNSG.

This is the 28in Widescreen HG281DJ, sporting 1080p support with a 1920 x 1200 WUXGA resolution. Considering it will be just a couple of feet from your face, you’re really not going to get a much bigger desktop viewing experience. There’s a HDMI port for simple hooking up of HD sources like players or consoles, alongside more traditional monitor connections like VGA and, less traditional ones, like Component.

It claims a fast 3ms response time which should make it suitable for games and fast-action HD movie content. It has an 800:1 contrast ratio, a brightness rating of 300cd/m² and a viewing angle of 160º. There are two in-built speakers rated at 2.5W each and it comes with a DVI-HDMI cable thrown in.

At £399, it’s at the high-end of what you’d expect to pay for a big monitor but then this is 28in we are talking about here.

If that's a little rich, you can opt for the HANNSG Verona 'Monitor Of Love', a 22in HDMI-equipped display for the more reasonable sum of £174.-Martin Lynch

Looks to me like a poor-mans substitute for the 30" monsters from Apple and Dell - not least of all because it doesn't require a dual-dvi link graphics card.

I don't think I'd want one.

At Evox,

Well, it better be a lot better cause it costs nearly £3000 !!!

The one you linked to should be a lot better it costs £2420.99 more. Who's going to want to pay that for a home monitor Evox? Also the response time of 3ms is a good selling point for a monitor this size at this price, most monitors this size are not so low. I would personally pay a little bit more (£14.34) and get this Viewsonic one that looks nicer. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=766061

My comment was more to do with a 28inch monitor not being anything to write home about, personaly i would go for the one i linked due to the fact i have one at work

I must admit its perfect for the work i do (video / photo editing). As for gaming i dont see why people would need a 28inch monitor or even anything over 20inch due to the fact pc gaming is almost dead.

Ages of the consoles is upon us and as such people use there TV's for video / games / even as computer monitors.

The main price difference is due to it being LED backlite. only plus on the monitor in the review is the 3ms res time.
