iPint Keeps iPhone Users Happy But Sober July 22, 2008

What's your favourite free games app on iTunes? In the past week or so, it's been an unlikely entrant from beer-maker Carling, called iPint.

Designed to work on your iPhone or iPod Touch, it's an interactive pub game that rewards your skill at manouvering a pint down a busy bar into the waiting hands of a thirsty patron with a virtual pint of your own.

The game uses the clever accelerometer in the iPhone/Touch to allow you slip the pint around obstacles. When successful - virtually all of the time to be honest - you are presented with an empty glass that fills with beer, complete with sloshing foam head. Move the iPhone, and the liquid moves too. Tilt it to begin drinking. It's slight, I agree, and more a glorified advert than a game, but it's popular as hell with the iTunes set and will get a giggle down the pub. See in action above.

Find more at the Carling iPint site here. Hell, go mad and add the Star Wars lightsaber app, PhoneSaber, and you'll be the star of the pub for at least 3-4 minutes, tops.-Martin Lynch

I have played this. Even on the hard settings it's very easy... no doubt so that you can get to the novel yet blatant Carling branding opportunity at the end.

I don't bother with the game, I just like the pint itself, very good for showing off :D
